SMS Terms & Conditions
Last updated: May 4, 2026
Program description
DocsDocs operates SMS messaging on behalf of subscribing dental practices. Patients of a subscribing practice who have opted in (see our SMS Consent & Messaging Policy) may receive SMS messages from the practice's assigned phone number for: appointment reminders, appointment confirmations, recall and recare reminders, treatment-plan follow-ups, billing and payment notifications, post-visit care instructions, and two-way conversations with practice staff.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies by practice and by the patient's individual care schedule. Most patients receive between 2 and 8 messages per month. Frequency may temporarily increase around scheduled visits, billing events, or recall windows.
Opt-out keywords
Patients may opt out of SMS at any time by replying any of the following keywords to a message from the practice's phone number:
STOP · END · CANCEL · UNSUBSCRIBE · QUIT
A single confirmation message acknowledging the opt-out may be sent. After opt-out, the practice and DocsDocs will not send further SMS messages to that mobile number unless the patient opts back in.
Help keyword
Patients may reply HELPat any time to receive a message containing the practice's contact information and a reminder of how to opt out.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on the patient's mobile carrier and plan. DocsDocs and the subscribing practice are not responsible for charges levied by the patient's mobile carrier. Patients should contact their mobile carrier with questions about their plan.
Supported carriers
DocsDocs SMS messages are delivered through Twilio Inc. and are supported on all major U.S. mobile carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Metro by T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and most regional carriers and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Eligibility
The SMS program is available to patients of subscribing DocsDocs dental practices located in the United States who have a U.S.-based mobile phone number and who have completed the opt-in process described in our SMS Consent & Messaging Policy.
Privacy of mobile opt-in data
Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. See our SMS Privacy Policy for full details on how mobile phone numbers and SMS content are collected, used, stored, and protected.
Changes to these terms
DocsDocs may update these SMS Terms & Conditions from time to time. The current version is always posted at docs-docs.com/sms/terms. Material changes will be communicated via SMS to opted-in patients before taking effect.
